The Firm’s roots in the Manchester area go back to the early 1800s. Until the late 1970s it was a typical family run partnership, concentrating mainly on domestic conveyancing, trust and probate work.
A modern approach
Although domestic matters have continued to be an important part of the work carried out by the firm, from 1980 the focus of the partners shifted strongly to commercial work. Commercial work as well as wills/estate planning and quality conveyancing are the strengths of the company today.
In 2004 the partnership converted to a limited company, the Directors of which are Bob Haworth, Richard Bell, Maggi Potts and Andrew Mardsen.
In 2005 the company moved from Hale to much larger offices in Altrincham to provide space for expansion. We occupy a handsome early Victorian building, remembered with affection by many as the Portofino Restaurant on the Downs.
